Openttd timetable12/20/2023 ![]() It isn't the game's fault if you refuse to use them. You have tools to solve most of the problems in the game. Obstinately refusing to play the game as it was designed to be played and then complaining that it's creating problems is, honestly, insanity. Overtaking requires dynamic pathfinding on the vehicle level, and this game does not have that. Games (and all software) are limited in what they can do. Just because something is such and such in real life does not make it so here. One thing to keep in mind is that this is a game. I do not see it in any way being so bad as some people make it out to be. I've only rarely bothered to use any unreasonable shenanigans in road construction to bypass excessive traffic. I've never needed more than four parallel tracks (and that only rarely, near stations). I hope so, because my opinion is that all this is overblown. I've reached $1.1B around 1985 with a Hard 1850 start without using any trains at all does that mean my opinion gets to count more than other folks' opinions? and is not That's ridiculous, and I wish people would stop trotting out "oh I did XYZ so my opinion matters more" nonsense. and it can not be handeled withouth many many many paralell tracks. but when stuf gets more complex you end up with 10 to 15 paralell tracks to get the trains going. Ursprünglich geschrieben von dh74:Also a few paralel tracks work great in the beginning. for others with a different RANDOM map its not doable so for one person the 4 tracks work perfectly. thats fun in the beginning of the game ( more easy ) but when you progress. my main city has the luck it has lots of industries close by. if industries are widely seperated you can work with branch lines. I refuse that ( my problem ) because i simple overtake routine and train priority could solve al the crap. but around 3 cities i end up with huge layers of tracks if i want to suply what i want. i'm not stating i have twelve tracks everywhere. but train priority and cars overtaking is just a BASIC for a TRANSPORT gameĪlso. but when you continue playing ( even on gigantic map ) i run out of buildspace to pave the map with more tracks and roads around some cities. then i'm not even starting on seperate roads for trucks and busses. I did not get 1.1 billion not knowing how the game works.Īnd this is just trains. I talk on COMPLETE circles with a good frequentie to keep it going in a good way. So 2 tracks to handle COMPLETE circles of food / fuel and goods is to little. The issue is the high frequency ( lot of trains ) to keep industry going. Yes i'm running on hard on the gigantic map ( OK 348 years instead of 500 ). a 10 to 15 wide train track between a few cities is not realistic at al. but not even fast trucks overtake a slower bus !!! So must i build paralel highways also to get my busses and trucks seperated ? Why not pave the complete map with roads and tracks □Īgain. al possible because trains can overtake ( basic ) scheduling. The busy line between amsterdam and rotterdam is 2 tracks wide for the most part in real life. A slow goods train stops so an intercity can take over.Īlso a few paralel tracks work great in the beginning. To the right is an old station that I placed many moons ago and can be ignored for the purpose of this example.īecause in real life trains will take over. In the centre of the image you can see the main line branch off in two directions with a passenger station and a freight station connected into it. It’s not a great example as I have track all over the place, because this is still my original game, that I have been learning on since I started playing weeks ago. In my image, you can see an example of what I describe above. The best way I have found to keep trains sharing the same line separated, is to set the busiest station only, to wait until full. Express trains and other non stopping, slow trains, get a chance to overtake when they pull into the stations. The four main line tracks are split into two fast (=>200km/h trains) and two slow tracks. Express trains not needing to stop at the stations continue on at speed on the main line. The stations, freight and passenger are placed alongside the main line and connected into it, front and back. The main lines don't run though the stations, but pass close to the town and are kept as straight as possible for max speed. I have been enjoying this game for many hours now, and what I have started doing is using four track, main lines.

Blue crab tattoo12/20/2023 ![]() They don’t like too much revelation and are rather obscure in their communication. There are many apt reasons for the crab to epitomize a true Cancerian. The innermost feelings of cancer can be quite profound and mysterious, their outer appearances hiding the depth of their feelings. They are known to be incredibly sensitive and just like the crab, they can have incurred some very thick shield to help them deal with the constant commotion in the world. Water signs are not only passionate and intense, but they are also extremely instinctive and sympathetic.Ĭancer is managed by the moon, the astronomical figure that serves comfort, self-care, and parental energies. MEANINGĬancerians are born between June 21 and July 22 and belong to the Water element of the zodiac, in addition to Pisces and Scorpio. And that’s exactly why some like to get it engraved on themselves as a token of their dedication. With the world turning more towards the hippie culture, the bend towards spirituality and astrology has sharpened. Reason or no reason, what seems to be trending these days is the zodiac tattoos. They happen by rough peer pressure, a set of 20-year-olds on Friday night getting drunk, not knowing what to do until an uncanny idea pops up and one of them blurts, “Let’s go get inked!” Tattoos don’t need a reason. Sometimes getting inked is a whole new story. It can memorialize a personage or an incident and as a virtual archive of snapshots of tattoos exhibiting names and faces of deceased loved ones. A tattoo can designate a group’s identity-mariners or pirates, veterans, inmates, gang members, motorcyclists, and other such groups. The ideas for tattoos are many, but what they have in common is the same subtext. Palace Skateboards was founded in 2010 by Lev Tanju, but its fundamentals were set during the mid 2000s under the monikier PWBC. Particularly, in streetwear, where common wardrobe staples - think coach jackets, pocket tees and 5 panels caps - are often used as blank canvases for designers to flaunt their creativity, a suitable logo can leave a lasting impression if presented in the right way. P3d vs x plane 1112/19/2023 ![]() You will be pleased to know that we have recently reviewed the latest X-Plane 11 for our readers. You can visit our X-Plane 11 discussion forum for discussion topics, and you don't even have to become a member to post. Perhaps you're already an avid X-Plane user, if so - you're sure to find a home here. Why not try X-Plane today? You can get your hands on the free demo here. While there are not as many add-on packages and downloads for X-Plane as there is for the Microsoft Flight simulators, this is a growing section and it's becoming increasingly popular.įeatured in this section are many aircraft, vehicles, helicopters and scenery expansions for X-Plane, all available for download with your Fly Away Simulation account. In Microsoft Flight Simulator, aircraft models are all similar with a simple configuration file to provide simple flight dynamics, while in X-Plane, aircraft shapes, sizes and weights are taken into consideration in the simulation - giving more realistic flight. X-Plane is said to be more realistic in terms of flight dynamics than any of the Microsoft Flight Simulator packages, mainly because of the way X-Plane gives flight to aircraft models. With the increase in popularity, freeware developers have started creating add-ons such as aircraft and scenery packages for X-Plane. It should be the best sim regardless.Image shows Antarctica scenery add-on in the latest X-Plane version 11. Microsoft has now said VR is at the top of their list for MFS2020. except, when it comes to VIRTUAL REALITY flight! I supposed we did do the same thing.right? Second, in the research of FSX add-ons there is no way that P3D didn't come up so he wasn't just asking about X-plane, he was asking about more but didn't realize it.Īlso READ MY first response to him where I POINTED HIM IN THE X-PLANE DIRECTION. First he said he couldn't find FSX anymore, which anyone with google could find FSX Steam. I do agree however that once mfs2020 comes out, xp11 and p3d become inadequate. Plus the OP asked specifically about xp11 and you brought up p3d (or tried jam your p3d fanboyism down his throat, to use your analogy). And a level of quality not seen in a sim before. Xplane is a newer program that offers features that p3d just doesn't. But it wont matter next year anyway because both will get obliterated by the NEW Microsoft Flight Simulator. The difference between an X-plane fanboy and a P3D one is that P3D fans can see the good in both, whereas X-plane fanboys just shove it down your throat. I use both X-plane and P3D v4.5 and there is no reason he can't do both. P3d ran like crap on the same setup, and out of the box does not look as good as xp11. With 1 high end graphics card I run xp11 on fairly high settings and get great FPS (20-50fps at all times) across 3 screens. I use xplane 11 to run my home cockpit because the 3d cockpits are incredibly realistic and functional. ![]() This is the main xplane download site much like avsim is for MFS/P3Dįor high quality payware jets i'd suggest Hands down.ĪND check here for a lot of other stuff. The xplane flight dynamics, sloped runways, and default aircraft are the best on a simulator program ever. There just isnt a ton of high quality freeware. X plane is a much better program than fsx or p3d. U2 where the streets have no name12/19/2023 ![]() ![]() Directed by Meiert Avis and produced by Michael Hamlyn and Ben Dossett, it was filmed on Maduring an impromptu concert that U2 performed on the roof of a liquor store at the intersection of 7th Avenue and Main Street in Los Angeles, CA. The music video for “Where the Streets Have No Name” is one of the most enduring in U2’s videography. Larry’s drum track was recorded in one take. “Race Against Time” is primarily an instrumental piece, with a few vocal embellishments by Bono, including repeated chants of the phrase “race against time.” The bass on the track is performed by The Edge, although it is based on bass parts previously developed by Adam Clayton. In 1998, when considering material for The Best of 1980-1990 compilation, U2 re-recorded the song as “Sweetest Thing (The Single Mix)” and released it to promote the album. It was recorded during sessions for The Joshua Tree, but the band felt it sounded unfinished and saved it for a B-side. “Sweetest Thing” was a song Bono wrote as an apology to his wife, Ali, for missing her birthday. U2 recorded the song as a full band with Paul Barrett at STS Studios in Dublin between legs of The Joshua Tree Tour in May, 1987. He had been inspired by initial recording sessions for the “Sun City” single and went back to his hotel room, where he wrote “Silver and Gold.” The version with Bono, Richards and Woods was released as a promotional single in 1985. “Silver and Gold” was a song that Bono had written and recorded with Keith Richards and Ron Wood of the Rolling Stones for the 1985 Sun City album by Artists Against Aparatheid. On 12-inch, cassette and CD formats, a third outtake, “Race Against Time,” was included. The 7-inch vinyl in most regions featured both “Silver and Gold” and “Sweetest Thing,” except in Australia, where “Silver and Gold” was the sole b-side. Three previously unreleased tracks were released as B-sides to the single. Most notably, the track includes backing vocals from The Edge on the chorus that are not present on the album version. This single version has a shorter fade-in and fade-out at the beginning and end of the song and gives the keyboards slightly higher prominence in the mix. Unlike the previous two singles from The Joshua Tree, which were released in their album versions, “Where the Streets Have No Name” was edited and subtly remixed into a “single version” (although it was not identified as such on releases at the time). Some promotional posters with the earlier release date can still be found. It was released on Augin the UK and Europe, and the following day in North America. The single was initially planned for release on August 24, 1987, but an unknown production issue resulted in a one-week delay. Only one photograph of Adam was used for this release across all formats, unlike the previous two singles, which incorporated different sleeve photos depending on the format. The sleeve design for the single was similar to that of both “With or Without You” and “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.” It featured a black-and-white photo of Adam Clayton, taken by Anton Corbijn and framed by black borders and gold accents. ![]() The band continued to work on “Where the Streets Have No Name” until it finally came together, soliciting input not only from Eno and Daniel Lanois, but also Steve Lillywhite. Engineer Pat McCarthy stepped in at the last minute and prevented Eno from carrying out his plan. At one point, after weeks of frustrating work, producer Brian Eno attempted to erase the master tapes so that the band would be forced to start fresh on the song. The song had a difficult gestation during the recording sessions for the album, with the band struggling to make it gel. “Where the Streets Have No Name” was chosen as the third single to be released from The Joshua Tree. There’s also some stand out set-pieces that channel the finest that the action films of the 1980s had to offer – a rough and ready motorcycle race and the opportunity to lay waste whilst piloting a deadly mech prove enjoyable and memorable palette cleansers.Hunziker has been working on Cyber Shadow for several years, and we recently spoke to him to find out a little more about the history and development of the game, and how Yacht Club has helped guide it to Switch. There’s a surprising level of tension created too leaping from platform to platform as the music quietens and you’ll suspect something big, nasty and mechanical will soon appear – though it will still prove a butt clencher when it eventually does. Going up against titanic mechs, humongous robot dragons, and vast tanks push the iconic 8-bit visuals to breaking point. ![]() Also, in a far more generous touch than many a NES game, your progress won’t be reset after death – any doors you’ve opened or power-ups you’ve collected will not be cruelly forgotten.īosses will test you to the limit, of course, but there are some brilliantly dramatic encounters to experience. Controls are also tight and precise, when things went horribly wrong for Shadow I knew it was my fault, even if I didn’t want to admit that to myself. You’ll rarely have to travel too far before finding a handy machine that’ll offer you a quick save, a health boost and the opportunity to buy a power-up. These frustrations are alleviated somewhat by some wise development decisions that act as a soothing balm to damaged gamer egos. ![]() There’s also too brief of an invulnerability interval after Shadow is struck and knocked back for my taste – it’s far too easy to lose several lives before you have any chance of recovering. Not a massive problem initially but when a lot of the later action takes place on precipitous platforms positioned above insta-kill spikes, you’ll soon be wishing that Shadow kept his feet planted firmly on the ground. ‘Big bad robot ninja killing machine’ Shadow leaps back a good metre if only even gently caressed by a teeny tiny monster. The first example is in the intensely irritating ‘knockback’ mechanic. Overall, it’s mostly fair, though there are some glaringly cruel exceptions. For far too long you’ll be stuck jumping with a basic attack and not a lot else going for you.ĭifficulty wise Cyber Shadow is as challenging and unforgiving as you would expect a game of this genre to be. Whilst this ability certainly opens up the game world for exploration, it felt late in its arrival – I’m used to being able to double jump and wall climb in my retro platformers from the get-go. There are some more interesting abilities to eventually be unlocked, but by the time you can parry, dash and cross slash like a ninja master it all feels a little too late into your adventure. In fact, I was well into a third of the game before unlocking the wall climb skill. You’ll be bashing bosses for many a level with the slim reward of useful but tedious health boosts and uninspired abilities that you’ll rarely use. Normally this is an excellent device to drive a player’s engagement and commitment to the game, yet Cyber Shadow waits an absolute age before dishing out the fun stuff. Just like any 2D action platformer, Shadow gradually gains a slew of abilities which can be used to further explore previous levels. The description of ‘spot-on pacing’ can’t be applied to the lethargic dribble of power-ups that come Shadow’s way. Smooth animation, super-detailed characterisation and a palpable sense of atmosphere – Aarne has perfected the art of 8-bit visual design. What Aarne “MekaSkull” Hunziker of Mechanical Head Games has accomplished is nothing short of astonishing. The 8-bit visuals are, quite frankly, kissable. Because, if like me, your first experience of a video game console was the NES then seeing Cyber Shadow in motion will give you a nostalgic dopamine hit of epic proportions. ![]() But can a retro-infused nostalgia fix succeed without having a sense of humour? Whilst The Messenger was a loving parody of retro classics, Cyber Shadow takes itself very, very seriously. But that would be to do Cyber Shadow a disservice. Cyber Shadow answers a very specific question, namely: What would a modern AAA video game look like if it existed in the eighties? Now, if you’re feeling pedantic you could argue that Sabotage Studio’s The Messenger already answered that question way back in 2018.
